Oh my goodness, I have been neglecting this blog and I feel terrible about it. So as one of my New Years ~~Resolutions~~ Goals! I am going to get on board with this blogging thing again. So lets go as far back as I can... lets start with October:

Thanksgiving:

This year we went up to Utah for Thanksgiving. We went to Jasons parents for most of the time, but we did sneak up to Orem for about 12 hrs. to see my family too. Overall it was a fun trip.

A few weeks ago while my family was in town we celebrated Carter's FIRST birthday. We had some close friends also join in on the fun. Carter had such a fun day...

I can't believe he is one...Ill miss those baby days :(

Update...finally!

Well I think I have put an update off long enough I guess I will start off with February.

My friend Karalee and I hosted a baby shower for one of my really good friends Susi. It turned out great, we handmade all of the decorations and Karalee did a wonderful job with all the food.

Carter learned how to walk at the end of January...he gets around pretty quick now. He is 10 months old...I know crazy right? He just loves to follow his older sister around.

In March we decide it was time to get some new family pictures done, but they are pricey if you want really nice ones. So we took the tripo and my camera to a park and took them ourselves. I think they look alright what do you think?

The next thing on our list of to do's is Carter's FIRST birthday! I can't believe it has already been almost one year when I labored for 24 hours and gave birth to Carter right in our living room. My family will be coming down to celebrate with us. I am very excited.

We had a simple, but very fun Christmas this year. The sun was shining and it was very warm here in Arizona. We made a big Christmas breakfast, opened our gifts, and than spoke to family members over Skype. Overall it was a wonderful day.

These were taken before Christmas. Just a little bit of what our house looked like all decorated. I even put snowflakes on the ceiling. :)

Carter,

Your are 4 months old and you are quite the little stinker. You were sleeping all through the night, but now you wake up about every 3 hours to eat...kind of like when you were a newborn. Don't worry though, mommy loves how much you still need her to make you feel better.

You love to roll all over the floor and discover new things. You also love to play with your feet which are about the cutest things ever.

You have the biggest eyes that smile at me everyday. With your eyes I can tell how much you love us. You must get that from your daddy :).

You love it when your sister comes to play with you. You get so giddy and always have a huge smile on your face. I can tell you two are going to be the best of friends.

We love you carter and are so excited to see the man you will grow up to be...but for now please stay your little cute self.

I guess I can start off with my summer and the things I've done. One very important and memorable thing that happened was the wedding of my only sister, Dasha. It was a hot, beautiful Vegas wedding.

On June 17th Jason and I celebrated our 4th anniversary. He surprised me by getting a babysitter for Cadence and taking me out to dinner...even though the NBA Finals were on. Don't worry he did get to watch it because the restaurant we went to had a TV.

Jason turned 25 on June 8th. We went out to dinner and I made him his favorite funfetti cake. The kids were asleep by the time he blew out the candles and we ate some cake, but it was nice to get to spend some time together alone.

He only got to blow out two candles...I forgot to get some more. Oh well, I'll remember next year.

It all started around 6 am on Saturday the 17th. I was so excited...it was only one day past my due date and I couldn't believe that I had actually gone into labor all on my own.

I woke up feeling crampy, so I decided to walk around the house to see if it was really it. I felt one pressure wave and began to time, they were around 5-7 minutes apart. I decided not to wake anyone up yet and kept walking ...watching the clock as I felt each wave.

Finally at around 7 am I woke Jason up and told him I was going to call the midwife and tell her what I was feeling. I called her and she said she would be over as soon as she got showered and dressed. I told her I would keep timing and just relax until she got to my house.

Just a couple of days before I had an appt. with her and told her that I would like to be checked, she checked me and I was already at 2-3 cm but only about 25% effaced, so I didn't know if i would go quickly or not. I was hoping that once labor started it would go by pretty quick...but I was wrong :)

I jumped into the shower because the water helped me relax, I was probably in there a good half hour. It felt so nice to have the warm water run on my belly and back. I got into my birthing outfit and started listening to my hypnobabies cd's. I relaxed on my birthing ball while doing this and it felt so nice to just close my eyes and just feel the pressure waves that would be bringing me closer to meeting my little man.

As I was relaxing on my birthing ball my midwife and her apprentice showed up. I didn't even notice that they were there. I was so in tune with my waves and relaxing through each one. After about a couple of hours of relaxing on my ball I went into the living room to join everyone else. I ate some lunch and than just relaxed on the couch watching movies. LOL.

As the day progressed I decided to get into the birthing pool to see if that would speed anything up. The hours passed by and it started falling into the evening...still no baby. I was starting to feel the tiredness from laboring all that time. I got out of the pool, because it felt like I could feel my waves more intensely out of the water. I sat on the couch and listened to more of my cd's to help me relax.

After a few hours of being out of the pool I felt like I had the urges of pushing. I labored with that feeling for a couple of hours and than my midwife started getting the pool warm again. I was hoping that the end was almost near and I would get to hold little Carter soon.

I got back into the pool...the waves were getting more and more powerful. I just let my body do its own thing. I couldn't believe how long it had already been. I think I was in the pool for about another couple of hours. I didn't really know what time it was. Probably about 1 or 2 in the morning the next day. With every wave it felt very pushy. My midwife was so supportive staying with me the whole time and just letting me do my own thing. With one wave my water broke...the next a little more pushy. I was finally full on bearing my baby down, trying to breathe him down.

My midwife had to push me a little to give it everything I had. I could feel his head start to crown she told me to put my hand down and feel his head. I was a little hesitant at first, but I did. His sweet little round head was right there. I gave another big push and out came his head, than with another little push he slipped right out. I quickly put my hands under the water and lifted my sweet little boy out of the water. I cuddled with him and he let out a cry. It was amazing. I just held him looking at him, talking to him, kissing him. We all got our chance to share our love with our newest family member.

Carter Jay was born at 4:51 am the next morning of the 18th. He weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz. and was 20 in. long. We are so happy that he's here.

BABY SHOWER & 35 weeks.

My wonderful visiting teachers and companion our throwing me a baby shower on March 27th. If you live here in Arizona and would like to come...let me know and I can give you all the details.
I am doing great!! Baby is getting big and I am starting to get the "I'M DONE" feeling. I have my 36 week appointment coming up next week here at my home, which will be great because I won't have to drive an hour to Mesa. And than I am officially ON-CALL...so exciting. I have ordered my birth kit and the birthing tub, so you can come any time now Carter.

Jason has been very busy with work lately, so I've been just a little sad being here all by myself everyday, all day. It's hard but I appreciate everything he does for our little family.
I can't wait to have family down here this week to keep me busy. My 3 brothers are coming down to spend spring break here. It'll be fun!

31 Weeks

As you notice on my sidebar, my little baby ticker says 31 weeks....that's right 31 weeks!!! I can't believe that in only 9 weeks we will have our little baby boy here. I still have so much to do for this little munchkin, pretty much everything. But we are so excited, especially big sister Cadence.

For those of you who don't know our birth plan is to have a home/water birth. We are so excited to be able to bring this little boy into the world comfortably and peacefully. We have been preparing by using Hypnobabies which is such a wonderful way to birth your baby. If you are pregnant and are trying to go all natural look into this, its great.

I will try to post some pics of my belly when I take some.

Happy Noon Year!

This year for New Years we took Cadence to the Phoenix Zoo. They were having a celebration for kids. She had so much fun playing in the snow, which was more like mud, dancing, and getting to toast at noon with her own cup of sparkling cider. After the celebration was over we had some lunch than walked the whole zoo. Just let me tell you being 6 months pregnant and walking 2.5 miles is not my idea of fun, but Cadence had a blast seeing all the different animals. She was so tired, she fell asleep in her stroller right as we were leaving and didn't even open her eyes when we put her in the car.

Later Jason and I had our own toast and kiss at midnight. Cadence was asleep by 8:30pm. I guess we wore her out good. I dedcided that my New Years resolution for this year is to make some friends. I know that sounds pretty lame, but we have been here for almost two years and don't have any close friends. So that is my goal for this year. And also just to be a better mother and wife to my growing family. I hope you all had a good New Years celebration.

Christmas

Christmas this year was okay...I'm not gonna lie. For some reason, Jason and I were not feeling very Jolly, as some may say. But here are some pictures of our Christmas.

Here is our tree, Christmas morning...just waiting for someone to come tear up all the wrapping paper.

Finally the little munchkin decided to get up and look at all the things Santa had brought her. at 9 am.

You can tell that this was Jason's idea of a gift, but she loves it.

Traditions

So I have been reading other blogs and everyone is posting about their Family Christmas traditions so I decided I should list some of mine.

Both of my parents are from Peru, so in our family we always celebrated on Christmas eve as well as on Christmas day. We would get the family together on Christmas Eve and have hot chocolate and treats as my dad gave us a little devotional on the birth of our savior. We would then sing Christmas music and wait till midnight to open our gifts. I know right what fun is that, but it was. We would stay up all night playing with our new toys. If Santa brought us anything we would get it the next morning. Mostly it was our stockings that would be filled the next day.

On Christmas Day we kept the traditional Christmas dinner with all the family. My mom would make delicious Peruvian food along with traditional American food. Let me just tell you by the end of that we were stuffed and it was time for a nap, lol.

When I was dating Jason his family invited me a couple of times to their homes for Christmas breakfast. After breakfast we would open gifts and than go sledding. Once I married into their family I discovered their tradition of cutting down their own Christmas tree after thanksgiving. My mom always had an artificial one, but now I am in LOVE with real, fresh trees.

Now that we have our own little family of three...soon to be four, I would love to start our own traditions. Haven't quite thought of anything yet, but I will be working on that for next year.

Thanksgiving

I was very scared when I thought of having our first Thanksgiving alone...I mean cooking a turkey?... me really? But I was totally relieved when Jason's uncle invited us over this year. He lives in Lake Havasu City. It was such a beautiful day and not to mention a very yummy dinner. After dinner we played at the park and came back for pies and cinnamon rolls. Than it was more games. We had a blast and Cadence had a lot of fun getting all the attention from Jason's cousins.

Here is how the Ultrasound went... the technician showed us everything you know profile, placenta, heartbeat, etc. Than he says " Here is a turtles head and the turtle shell"... never heard of that before. But yes we are having a BOY!!! We are so excited. Preparing myself for a lot of blue.

No one really expected for my sister to go into labor right on her due date being a first time mom and everything....but we were all wrong. Jovan Jarom was born on Nov. 2nd @ 12:36 am six minutes past his due date.He weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz. and was 21.5 inches long, just like his cousin Cadence, and could have had the same birthday, LOL. He is so cute and looks just like his mommy!! It was really a neat experience to be in the room when he was born, really the coolest thing ever.

Meet my new niece Rylee Mae McDonald. She was born by c-section on October 6th. Weighing in at a whoppin' 9lbs. 5oz. and measuring 21 in. long. I am so excited for Russell and Toni to finally be parents. They definitely deserve it. She is beautiful.

My cute nephew is here....

Cody Lee Sellers was born on Sept. 29th @ 5:07 pm. He weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz. and was 19 in. long. He was born at home in a birthing pool. My awesome sis-in-law was only in labor for 4 hours... LUCKY!!! He is such a cutie and we can't wait to meet him in person. Congrats to Littia, Jared, and big sister Ellie.

Hey everyone!! I have had no time to post anything for the last little while...with the move and everything. But we are doing fine. We had so much help moving, it was about an hour to pack up everything and an hour to unpack everything. Our old ward was amazing and I have a pretty good feeling about our new ward! They were so willing to come help Jason and I with moving.

As for me I am feeling pretty good, a little sick here and there, but nothing to serious. My midwife told me that I need to eat more though, and that would help more with the sickness. I have a busy month a head of me. For one I need to still get everything unpacked, we are still living out of boxes and it drives me crazy, I have a baby shower to plan and get ready for, a scrapbook to finish( I have only done three pages), and than its off to Utah to see three new nieces and nephews, and attend the birth of my little sisters baby. I will be up there for about 2-3 weeks. So if I am not posting much it's because I have no time, on top of that I have Miss Cadence who keeps me on my toes all day. I will try to post some pictures of our new place once we get all settled in.

Bigger house means bigger family!

Yep we are moving this weekend to a bigger house in El Mirage. We are excited, it has way more room for us and its cheaper, how can you beat that? Why are we moving you ask? Well....we are expecting again. Yes that's right...another munchkin on the way. We are so excited!! I went in for an ultrasound and the baby looks great! We are so blessed to have been able to get pregnant so quickly after what happened in May. Bring on bigger and better things.

I decided to start potty training Cadence. Am I crazy???.....probably, she is only 20 months, but I think it's been going pretty good. We've had a lot of accidents, as everyone might have, but within three days she started going in the toilet. She loves wearing her BIG girl underwear too. I am actually glad that we started her now. I am hoping by the time she turns 2 she will be fully potty trained. Crossing fingers!

We had an amazing weekend going up to Utah for my sister Littia's Sealing. Even though I could not attend inside the Temple, I felt the spirit very strongly. They got sealed in the Manti, Utah temple. It was pretty amazing how it was rainy all day and during their sealing it was sunny and beautiful outside. Well there has been a lot going on in this month of June. My sister Dasha came out to visit for 2 weeks. We had a lot of fun going to the Lake, Shopping, swimming at the pool, sightseeing and just hanging out at home. Thanks for staying with me!! Memorial Weekend Trip

We had a lot of fun this past weekend in St. George. It is always good to go spend time with family. Cadence loved playing with her cousin E-EEEh (Ellie)! They played in the water and had a blast. The boys took Cadence and Ellie for one night, so that the girls could have a night out. We had so much fun bowling!! It was good for me to have a girls night. Thanks Jason and Russell. Overall it was a fun weekend and it was nice to get out of Phoenix!!

To My Sisters

I just wanted to tell my sisters how excited I am for them to be mommies, 2 that are new to the whole thing and 1 who is going to have her second. I want them to know that our Heavenly Father is so wonderful to let us care for his children. This a great gift that we should not take for granted! My sister Toni is having a girl, my sister Littia is having a boy and my sister Dasha will find out in June what she is having. It is so awesome to see our family grow!! Love you guys!!

Baby #2

This post is a little hard for me because I never thought that I would ever have to go through this.
Today I lost baby #2. I am a little sad, but am grateful to have this happened. It has put into perspective a little more of my goal to go to the temple with Jason. I am very grateful to have the gospel in my life and know that this little baby was sent from our heavenly father and was taken back to live with him again. I am grateful for my husband and how hardworking he is to provide for us and give me the chance to be at home with my sweet little Cadence. I am also grateful for my family, even though they are far away I always feel their love and support. Thanks!

Bike Rides

We bought a bike trailer last week, so that we could go on family bike rides. We go almost every night and Cadence loves it. She is so excited that she climbs into it herself and sits down. She is silly. Jason and I enjoy it also because it is a very good workout.

We went to the Maricopa County Fair last weekend. Cadence had so much fun looking at all the animals. She couldn't ride any rides because she was to short. Oh well I guess there is always next year. We enjoyed it to, Jason especially loved watching the motocross.

We had a fun, sunny Easter yesterday! We went to Papago Park in Tempe and had a fun day taking pictures and giving Cadence her Easter basket. She loved finding all the eggs inside her baskets. One teammate sent out on a stretcher and another poor sport kicked out of the game. What an exciting day it has been for basketball. Because of the disqualification and the forfeit of the team our mens team got to go the region finals. yay! We took 2nd in the finals. We only lost by two points, such a close game. I love when people show there creative sides on their blogs. I was really touched with Liz Kartchner's blog about President Uchtdorf's talk on creativity. Liz is such an amazing person, I was really blessed to have had her as a young women leader growing up. Go check out her blog, it is full of many daily inspirations. So anyways, I have started to scrapbook again. I may not be the best at it, but it's fun for me. Here is a page I made for my sister. I left the journaling blank, so that she can put something about her best friend. I am working on some other layouts and will have them up hopefully soon...with a 17 month old I have to wait for her afternoon nap to be able to get much done.

My little sister was going down for a wedding and the bride wanted me to do her hair , so I jumped at the opportunity to go to VEGAS!! We had a lot of fun. Grandma and Grandpa were also there and took Cadence for a night, so that we could have a night to ourselves. Thanks!!

And I did some wedding hair!

Overall it was a fun weekend and nice getaway. And I got to see the strip with no lights on. They turned off all the lights for an hour for Global Warming. It was weird to see it so dark.

Stiff neck

I've had some major deCisiOns this past week. It's been kind of hard because I am not much of a decision maker. Last week I went to an interview to work for an awesome salon. The following day they called me and offered me a position. The only problem is that they were looking for someone who could work full-time and work Sundays. I told them that I would have to get back to them and let them know. I had to think really hard if I wanted to start my career, but than on Saturday our bishop came over to our home and asked if I would serve as the Relief Society chorister. Of course I said yes and that left the whole job thing a little more difficult. Not to mention leaving my little Cadence with someone to watch her as I worked was not something I want to do. Today I called and said that I would not be able to accept the job at this time, but maybe in the future. It was really tough for me because I have been wanting to work for quite sometime, but my heart just told me it wasn't the right time for me.

So all of these decisions left me with a STIFF NECK. I am pretty sure it's the stress lately that did it. It's been hurting for quite a few days and this morning it was just too much pain. I went to a chiropractor and got some work done on it. I felt a little better after that. Hopefully I wont have anymore stress for a little while.

Oh and one more thing I made a scrapbook page for my cute niece who is turning two in a few days. Here are some pics:

I had to make it an 8.5 x 11 page because that's the size of her baby book and it would be nice to keep all of it together. Hope you all like it.

Picture Princess Contest

So I was just browsing around and I found this website Shabby Apple and I fell in love. They have the cutest dresses for little girls and women. Then I discovered that they are having a Picture Princess contest. The winner will win an entire Shabby Baby Spring 2009 wardrobe. I just have to enter Cadence into it. Wouldn't she look so cute in this dress from their little girls collection.

Well Cadence Lily is our little princess since the day she was born. I mean doesn't her name sound like a princess? She is so fun and happy all the time. She can put a smile on anyone's face. She is also very photogenic, and loves to get her picture taken. She always says "cheese" every time you go take her picture and gives a huge cheesy grin. She would look so cute in the Shabby Baby wardrobe, and as you can tell from her pictures above she loves to dress up!!! She would be a perfect choice for this position and hope to be enjoying all of your cute dresses soon.

So you know that fever that Cadence had last week. Well...that was the start of the CHICKEN POX!!! I have probably called my mom at least a dozen times. I know now what she had to go through every time one of us got the chicken pox. It is horrible!This is going to be a long week.

Well here are a few events out of my week;

Baking:
Cadence and I had a fun time making cupcakes. They turned out delicious. Cadence really liked the part where she could stick her fingers in the batter and taste it.

Illness:
Cadence was sick for most of the week. It was so sad to just see her so....I guess the word is boring. She always has so much energy, but this week it was complete opposite. All she did was lay on the couch and sleep on her chair/mat. :(

I want:
THIS PLEASE!! I am so sick of having to take pictures with my phone. I need a good camera that will not die in a year.

New Look:
I cut my bangs this week. I needed something new. Still no pics yet, will get some up soon.

I need:
A vacation. Maybe here............

My Crafty Side

I have recently gotten into Digital Scrapbooking. I still do the regular scrapbooking, but I love how with digital scrapbooking it is all right here for you on the computer. I decided that this year I am going to do a project of some sort as my Christmas gift for Jason's side of the family. Still have no idea what I am going to do for my family. :{ I have already started on it...I know it's not even close to Christmas, but I want it to look perfect. I'll keep updating on the progress. YAY I am so excited. Oh and just found out my sister-in-law Littia is pregnant. Our family gets bigger every year!!

Our Trip to Utah

Visit with the McDonald Family

We went over to my sister-in-law's (Littia) house while we were in Utah. There was also Grandma McDonald and cousin Ellie waiting to play. Cadence had so much fun dancing with Ellie. They danced for about an hour straight. SSSOOO CUUUTTEE!! We also went up to Salt Lake City to eat dinner at Red Iguana. Its a cute little mexican restaraunt that had a small mariachi come around to each table and serenade you. The girls loved it. The food wasn't to bad either. It was a long day, but very fun.

A Morning with my Aunt

The day after we got to Utah, Dasha had to take a toddler (Cadence) to her child development class at school. They had fun learning centers where they got to color, make fruit loop necklaces, play blocks, and eat snacks. Cadence loved being around all the other children. Makes me think she might need a little brother and sister soon.....Well maybe not that soon. Cadence had a great day playing with her aunt Dasha.

Fun Day at Chuck-E-Cheese

While we were in Utah, I took Cadence to Chuck-E-Cheese. I figured that would be a good place to take her since we couldn't really be outdoors. She had such a good time. We ended up winning 548 tickets and got lots of great things with it. Dasha and Iriana went with us. It was a fun day.

Cadence thought it would be fun to clean the kitchen with mom. She did such a good job. It's amazing to see how much she has learned and how fast she is growing up, makes me want to cry. My pictures are a little blurry because I took them with my phone, but isn't she so cute!!

First Christmas Alone

Here are a couple of pictures that we took on Christmas Eve and Christmas. It was kind of a sad christmas because we were away from our families. I have never been away from my family until now. I love them and miss them so much.

Jason got me a webcam for Christmas. We went online on Christmas Eve and celebrated with my family. He is such a sweet husband!!

Jason built Cadence a bookhelf this year! last year he built her a toy chest. He is such a good daddy!!

I didn't really take a whole lot of pictures this year. Most of it was videotaped. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!

Cadence First Birthday

I wanted to add some pictures of a year ago, when Cadence was born. She has changed so much! She was born November 1, 2007 at 9:43 am, 7lbs. 14oz., 20.5 inches long, after her mommy being in 40 hours of labor. Thanks to the epidural I got to relax the last four hours. She was all worth it!

This was her first professional hospital picture. Doesn't she look fake? So pretty.

We went up to Utah to celebrate Cadences first Birthday. She had so much fun opening her presents and eating cake. I can't believe she is ONE!! Time just flew by. Her are some pictures of her birthday party.

Starting Over

Well we just recently moved from Utah to Phoenix, Arizona. I am still trying ot get used to it and meet some new friends, but over all I think it has been a very good move for our family. It seems like we are doing better financially and also getting to spend more time together. I am also trying to get used to the fact that it doesn't get cold that often and that I probably won't be seeing any snow for Christmas.
